As Director, Capital Markets Growth, you'll sit at the intersection of crypto-native innovation and institutional capital, driving strategic partnerships that expand access to lending, credit, and savings through blockchain technology. This role offers outsized influence in an organization defining how distributed ledger systems reshape global finance.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead growth strategy for capital markets initiatives across the Aave ecosystem, identifying opportunities to deepen liquidity and institutional adoption
Build and nurture relationships with asset managers, trading firms, and fintech partners interested in decentralized finance and smart contract-based lending
Design go-to-market strategies that position Aave's onchain products competitively against legacy financial infrastructure
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, legal, and engineering teams to translate market feedback into protocol improvements
Represent Aave Labs at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings to strengthen our standing in the web3 capital markets space
Track market trends across DeFi, crypto, and traditional finance to inform strategic growth decisions
What We're Looking For
Proven track record in capital markets, institutional sales, or business development within finance or crypto
Deep understanding of blockchain technology, DeFi protocols, and smart contracts, with genuine enthusiasm for distributed systems
Strong network across institutional finance, trading desks, or digital asset firms
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, comfortable engaging with sophisticated financial counterparties
Strategic thinker who can translate market insight into actionable growth plans
Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments typical of early-stage crypto organizations
Bonus Points
Direct experience working within a DeFi protocol, exchange, or digital asset trading firm
Familiarity with Aave or other major onchain lending and borrowing platforms
Existing relationships with institutional liquidity providers or market makers in crypto
Background in regulatory or compliance considerations affecting digital asset capital markets
