About This Role
This is a rare opportunity to own critical backend infrastructure at the intersection of distributed ledger technology and real-time communication systems. You'll be the technical anchor for our Push notification platform, a system that bridges smart contract events with human-readable, timely alerts for DeFi users worldwide. Your work will directly shape how people interact with decentralized finance every single day.
What You'll Be Doing
Architect and scale backend systems that process blockchain events into reliable, low-latency push notifications
Design resilient infrastructure capable of handling high-throughput data from smart contracts across multiple chains
Partner closely with protocol engineers to translate complex onchain activity into clear, actionable user communications
Set technical direction and mentor engineers, raising the bar for backend engineering across the organization
Drive architectural decisions around distributed systems, event-driven design, and crypto-native data pipelines
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and smart contract teams to ship features that improve DeFi accessibility
What We're Looking For
8+ years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of owning complex, high-scale systems
Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and backend infrastructure design
Hands-on experience working with blockchain data, smart contracts, or crypto-adjacent systems
Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Node.js, or similar
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering culture at a senior level
Excellent communication skills and comfort operating in a fast-moving, remote-friendly web3 environment
Bonus Points
Experience building notification, messaging, or alerting systems at scale
Familiarity with Aave Protocol, Ethereum, or other major blockchain ecosystems
Background working directly with DeFi protocols or decentralized applications
Contributions to open-source blockchain or infrastructure projects
