About This Role
Gemini is looking for a hands-on engineering leader to drive the technical vision and execution for our Credit Card platform. You'll manage a talented team of engineers building secure, scalable systems that bridge traditional payment rails with decentralized technology. What You'll Be Doing
Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for the Credit Card product, fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence
Architect and oversee the development of secure, distributed systems that integrate crypto rewards with traditional card payment infrastructure
Partner cross-functionally with product, design, compliance, and risk teams to ship features that delight customers while meeting regulatory standards
Drive technical strategy for scalability, reliability, and security across systems handling sensitive financial and crypto transaction data
Champion engineering best practices including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and incident response processes
Mentor and coach engineers, supporting career growth and technical development within the team
What We're Looking For
7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role
Proven track record building and scaling backend systems, ideally within fintech, payments, or blockchain/crypto environments
Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, APIs, and secure transaction processing
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for cross-functional stakeholders
Experience managing engineers through the full project lifecycle, from planning to production deployment
Passion for decentralized finance (DeFi) and genuine curiosity about how crypto is transforming traditional financial products
Bonus Points
Direct experience with credit card, lending, or payments infrastructure
Familiarity with smart contracts, blockchain protocols, or crypto-native rewards systems
Background working in regulated financial environments alongside compliance and risk teams
Experience scaling engineering teams at a high-growth crypto or fintech company
