About This Role
Ondo's user research team works horizontally across the full product suite rather than within a single team. The company is hiring a senior quantitative user researcher to build and lead quantitative research across the portfolio. This person will set their own UX research strategy with minimal guidance, take on the most important decision-shaping questions regardless of which team they come from, and answer them with evidence that holds up at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
Own the research intake process and quantitative roadmap, fielding questions from product, design, go-to-market and leadership teams. Translate vague requests into answerable research questions, determine which require quantitative evidence, and prioritize studies that most reduce risk on key initiatives.
Answer critical questions before launch using MaxDiff and conjoint analysis to identify which features, benefits and messages actually influence decisions. Design pre-launch experiments—including stimulus tests, matched cohorts, vignettes and threshold studies—with decision rules established before fielding, and pretest instruments through cognitive interviews.
Build measurement frameworks and segments that hold up over time: adapt or develop validated scales for trust, perceived security and comprehension, track these across products and markets, and turn user profiles into statistically validated, properly sized segments.
Ensure data quality and connect it to real behavior by designing sampling, translation and fraud controls for a global, crypto-native audience, and by partnering with data science to link survey results with product data.
Evaluate AI-assisted experiences by designing human evaluation methods for AI-assisted finance features, including rubrics and rater reliability, and assessing whether user trust aligns with actual system reliability.
Serve as leadership's partner for evidence-based decision-making. Present findings as recommendations that include effect sizes, confidence levels and what would change the decision. Provide quick, appropriately scoped answers to ad-hoc leadership questions—whether that means using existing data, running a fast pulse survey, or conducting a full study. Set standards that enable PMs and designers to run sound, lightweight surveys or data-driven validation on their own.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of UX or applied research experience, including at least 5 years leading quantitative studies end to end, from study design through recommendation.
Experience leading quantitative research for financial products such as brokerage, trading, banking, payments, wealth management or lending.
A self-starter who can operate with minimal guidance—scoping ambiguous problems, setting priorities, and driving studies through to a decision.
Deep expertise in survey science, including sampling and weighting, instrument design, bias control, data-quality screening, and programming in Qualtrics or similar tools.
Hands-on experience designing and analyzing MaxDiff and/or conjoint studies.
Strong applied statistics skills, including regression, power analysis, and experimental and quasi-experimental design.
Fluency in R or Python for analysis and visualization.
An established AI-assisted research workflow—from drafting survey instruments to writing and reviewing analysis code—paired with rigorous proofreading and validation of outputs.
A track record of quantitative research that has influenced product or business decisions, along with the ability to clearly explain uncertainty to executives and non-researchers.
Bonus Points
Experience with crypto, onchain or tokenized-asset products.
A master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, survey methodology, behavioral economics or marketing science.
Depth in advanced methods such as hierarchical Bayes and simulators, psychometric scale development, segmentation, pricing research, SQL or multilevel modeling.
Experience evaluating AI or LLM-powered products, including human evaluation design, rubrics or rater reliability.
Experience conducting research across markets in LATAM, APAC or EMEA, including translating survey instruments.
Experience with responsible AI-native research workflows, such as using LLM tools to speed up instrument design, coding open-ended responses, or analysis.
