We're seeking a skilled Smart Contract Developer to design and implement sophisticated contract logic within the Thought Machine Vault ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of traditional fintech and emerging decentralized technology principles, offering you the opportunity to shape how modern banking products are engineered using smart contract architecture, API-driven systems, and programmable financial logic.
What You'll Be Doing
Architect and develop robust Smart Contracts within Vault Core, translating complex banking requirements into clean, maintainable code
Build and integrate with Contracts API and Vault APIs to enable seamless posting instructions, balance tracking, and multi-dimensional account structures
Implement scheduled events and hooks that automate interest accrual, application logic, and lifecycle management—mirroring the automation principles found in decentralized smart contract systems
Write comprehensive test suites to validate complex business logic, ensuring reliability akin to production-grade blockchain deployments
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, distributed financial infrastructure
Troubleshoot and optimize contract performance across the account lifecycle, from creation through closure
What We're Looking For
Strong software development background, with hands-on Python experience essential
Proven track record building Thought Machine Vault Smart Contracts in live or simulated environments
Deep understanding of Vault Core components: Smart Contracts, Contracts API, posting instructions, balances and dimensions, and scheduled hooks
Demonstrated experience developing and rigorously testing complex, rules-based business logic
Solid grasp of banking product mechanics, including interest accrual and account management principles
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced contract setting
Bonus Points
Exposure to broader blockchain, crypto, or DeFi protocol development
Familiarity with distributed systems architecture and decentralized application design
Experience working within regulated financial or fintech environments
Understanding of smart contract security principles and auditing practices
