Software Engineer, Blockchain Platform Nodes
About This Role
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the CB Node team within our Platform organization—the backbone that keeps blockchain nodes running reliably at massive scale. This isn't theoretical work; you'll be solving real infrastructure challenges that directly impact how a global crypto exchange interfaces with distributed ledgers. It's a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of systems engineering and web3 infrastructure, where your contributions ripple across every asset and smart contract interaction on the platform.
What You'll Be Doing
Operate and scale the blockchain node infrastructure supporting dozens of distinct protocols and crypto assets
Diagnose and resolve root-cause performance issues across the node stack rather than applying temporary patches
Build tooling and automation to improve reliability, observability, and uptime of decentralized network connections
Collaborate cross-functionally with protocol specialists, SREs, and product teams to onboard new blockchain integrations
Optimize node performance for throughput, latency, and data consistency across multiple consensus mechanisms
Contribute to architectural decisions shaping the future of our distributed systems platform
What We're Looking For
Strong software engineering background with proficiency in Go, Rust, Python, or similar languages
Hands-on experience operating infrastructure at scale, ideally involving blockchain nodes or distributed systems
Solid understanding of networking, Linux systems, and cloud infrastructure fundamentals
Demonstrated ability to debug complex, multi-layered technical issues methodically
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where crypto markets never sleep
Excellent collaboration skills and clear technical communication
Bonus Points
Direct experience running or maintaining nodes for Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, or other major protocols
Familiarity with smart contracts, DeFi protocols, or consensus algorithms
Background in SRE practices, observability tooling, or large-scale distributed systems
Contributions to open-source blockchain or infrastructure projects
