Sr. Engineer, Cryptography Engineering
About This Role
This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of applied cryptography, blockchain infrastructure, and institutional-grade security engineering. You'll architect resilient systems that safeguard digital assets at scale, using cutting-edge techniques like multi-party computation (MPC) and secure enclaves to protect some of the most sensitive data in web3. If you're energized by solving hard cryptographic problems with real-world, high-stakes impact, this role is built for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and implement secure custody solutions for crypto and tokenized assets using MPC protocols and hardware-based secure enclaves
Build robust, fault-tolerant backend services that support decentralized and institutional digital finance infrastructure
Translate cryptographic research into production-grade, battle-tested code that secures smart contracts and on-chain transactions
Collaborate cross-functionally with security, blockchain engineering, and research teams to harden system architecture
Conduct threat modeling, code reviews, and security audits across distributed systems and custody workflows
Stay ahead of emerging cryptographic techniques and blockchain protocol developments to continuously strengthen defenses
What We're Looking For
Deep experience in applied cryptography, with hands-on knowledge of MPC, threshold signatures, or secure multi-party protocols
Strong background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or blockchain infrastructure development
Proven ability to bridge academic cryptographic research with scalable, production-ready engineering
Familiarity with secure enclave technologies (e.g., SGX, TEEs) and hardware security modules
Excellent communication skills and comfort working in fast-paced, security-critical environments
Prior experience in fintech, custody solutions, or institutional crypto platforms is highly valued
Bonus Points
Published research or contributions to cryptographic protocols or open-source blockchain projects
Experience with smart contract security audits or formal verification methods
Familiarity with DeFi protocols, tokenization frameworks, or digital asset regulatory considerations
Background in zero-knowledge proofs or advanced consensus mechanisms
Why Join Us
Competitive compensation packages, with flexibility for W2 or corp-to-corp consulting arrangements
Comprehensive benefits for W2 team members, including health, retirement, and more
Fully remote flexibility with the option to collaborate from our Gunnison County hub
Direct, meaningful impact on the future of secure institutional digital finance and distributed ledger technology
Work alongside top-tier cryptography and blockchain engineers solving genuinely novel problems
