Staff Application Security Engineer
About This Role

What You'll Be Doing
Lead in-depth security architecture reviews and threat modeling sessions for new products, smart contracts, and distributed ledger integrations
Design and scale secure coding standards, tooling, and automation across engineering teams building crypto and web3 features
Perform advanced penetration testing and code audits to uncover vulnerabilities before adversaries do
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to bake security into every stage of development
Mentor engineers on secure development practices specific to blockchain, DeFi, and decentralized applications
Drive incident response and root-cause analysis for application-layer security events
What We're Looking For
7+ years of experience in application security engineering, with proven work on large-scale, high-availability systems
Deep understanding of web application vulnerabilities, secure architecture, and modern authentication/authorization patterns
Hands-on experience securing smart contracts, blockchain protocols, or crypto infrastructure strongly preferred
Strong command of at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java, or similar) for building security tooling
Excellent communication skills to translate complex security findings into actionable guidance for engineers and leadership
A builder's mindset — comfortable balancing security rigor with the pace of a fast-moving crypto company
Bonus Points
Experience auditing DeFi protocols or decentralized exchanges
Familiarity with crypto custody systems, wallet security, or key management infrastructure
Industry certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, or equivalent practical expertise
Contributions to open-source security tools or blockchain security research
