What You'll Be Doing
Design, build, and maintain robust Java-based microservices supporting blockchain and distributed ledger applications
Develop and integrate smart contracts and digital asset workflows into Citi's enterprise systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, risk, and compliance to deliver secure web3-enabled solutions
Drive technical architecture decisions for scalable, high-performance blockchain infrastructure
Mentor junior engineers while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
Evaluate emerging blockchain protocols and DeFi frameworks to inform platform roadmap
What We're Looking For
8+ years of professional Java engineering experience, with recent exposure to blockchain or distributed systems
Strong understanding of smart contract development, cryptographic principles, and decentralized architectures
Experience working in regulated, enterprise-grade environments (financial services a plus)
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
Solid grasp of microservices, APIs, and cloud-native development practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-evolving technology spaces
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience with Ethereum, Hyperledger, Corda, or similar distributed ledger platforms
Familiarity with DeFi protocols, tokenization frameworks, or digital asset custody solutions
Exposure to crypto regulatory and compliance considerations
Contributions to open-source blockchain projects
