About This Role
Join the Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP) team as a Senior Java Engineer at the VP level, where you'll shape the backbone of enterprise-grade blockchain and web3 solutions. This hands-on technical role puts you at the intersection of traditional finance and decentralized innovation, building platforms that bring smart contracts, digital assets, and crypto infrastructure into one of the world's largest financial institutions.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and build scalable Java-based microservices that power Citi's distributed ledger and digital asset platform
Architect smart contract integration layers connecting blockchain networks with core banking systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance DeFi-adjacent and digital asset solutions
Drive technical decisions around distributed systems architecture, ensuring resilience and compliance at scale
Mentor engineering talent while championing best practices in blockchain development and distributed computing
Partner with product, risk, and compliance stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
What We're Looking For
8+ years of hands-on Java engineering experience, including microservices and distributed systems design
Demonstrated experience with blockchain technologies, distributed ledgers, or crypto-related platforms
Strong understanding of smart contract concepts and web3 architecture patterns
Proven track record leading technical initiatives in complex, regulated environments
Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business conversations
Experience working in agile, fast-paced engineering teams
Bonus Points
Familiarity with Ethereum, Hyperledger, Corda, or other enterprise blockchain frameworks
Exposure to DeFi protocols, tokenization frameworks, or digital asset custody solutions
Background in financial services or capital markets technology
Experience with cloud-native deployments (AWS, Kubernetes, containerization)
