Controller (Head of Accounting)
About This Role
As Head of Accounting, you'll own the financial integrity of a company building next-generation infrastructure for the AI-driven decentralized economy — including the BesTrade DeAI Agent and the broader AIxC product suite. This is a rare opportunity to shape accounting frameworks for a crypto-native business operating at the convergence of traditional finance and blockchain innovation, where token economics, smart contract revenue flows, and DeFi mechanisms intersect with GAAP compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and scale the accounting function across both traditional finance operations and crypto/blockchain-based revenue streams
Oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance for a U.S.-listed company with exposure to digital assets and decentralized products
Build robust internal controls for tracking token transactions, smart contract-generated revenue, and treasury management across on-chain and off-chain systems
Partner with product, legal, and leadership teams to navigate evolving crypto accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Manage month-end close, audits, and SEC reporting obligations with precision and transparency
Mentor and grow an accounting team equipped to handle the complexities of a Web3-native enterprise
What We're Looking For
CPA required, with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including controller-level leadership
Demonstrated expertise in public company financial reporting and SEC compliance
Working knowledge of digital asset accounting, including treatment of crypto holdings, tokens, and blockchain-based transactions
Strong command of GAAP with ability to adapt frameworks to emerging decentralized finance models
Exceptional analytical and communication skills, comfortable operating in a fast-moving, innovation-first environment
Proven ability to build scalable processes from the ground up
Bonus Points
Prior experience at a crypto-native, blockchain, or Web3 company
Familiarity with DeFi protocols, stablecoins, and smart contract auditing from a financial perspective
Experience with crypto-specific accounting software and blockchain analytics tools
Background in AI-related or tech-forward startups
