Head of Platform Engineering
About This Role
As the Head of Platform Engineering, you will lead the evolution of our scalable, secure, and high-performing platform, driving the infrastructure that fuels our fast-paced startup. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll be instrumental in shaping our platform strategy, empowering engineering teams, and maintaining a hands-on role in solving complex technical challenges.
What You'll Be Doing
Champion Infrastructure Reliability: Conduct gap analyses to strengthen infrastructure and maintain exceptional uptime for critical systems (e.g., APIs, databases).
Enhance Monitoring Systems: Improve monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog) to ensure rapid incident detection and resolution.
Lead Strategic Initiatives: Own high-priority infrastructure projects, defining clear roadmaps and fostering accountability to deliver outcomes that drive business success.
Shape Platform Strategy: Develop and implement a platform strategy that aligns with business objectives and empowers engineering teams.
Lead and Mentor: Lead a lean team of 1-2 Senior/Intermediate DevOps Engineers.
Remain Hands-on: Contribute as a staff/principal-level engineer by writing code, designing architecture, and solving complex technical challenges.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with engineering leads and senior peers to advance strategic priorities and enable business growth.
Cultivate DevOps Culture: Foster a world-class DevOps culture within the organization.
