"What You'll Be Doing"
About This Role
We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Architect to own the infrastructure direction of our growing Reconciliation platform. You'll set the architecture, design, and technical direction for the platform—focused on performance, stability, security, and integrating newer technologies—while working alongside senior infrastructure engineers who handle day-to-day execution and operations.
What You'll Be Doing
Setting and owning the infrastructure architecture direction, driving decisions on architecture, scalability, and performance across the platform
Providing technical leadership and mentorship to senior infrastructure engineers by reviewing designs, helping unblock hard problems, and deepening the team's expertise
Establishing infrastructure standards and patterns that set a high bar for quality, performance, and maintainability
Staying hands-on—prototyping and building critical-path components, while routine implementation and day-to-day operations remain with the senior engineers
Making and being accountable for infrastructure tradeoff decisions that carry long-term cost, scalability, or maintainability implications
What We're Looking For
BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and owning large-scale distributed infrastructure, with a track record of owning architecture decisions, including 3+ years as a technical lead mentoring engineers
Deep expertise with AWS and Kubernetes, with a minimum of 3+ years' experience with each
Expertise in Linux and Windows server environments, along with strong experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and ArgoCD, and scripting languages including Bash and Python
Experience with data infrastructure and processing technologies such as Spark and MSSQL, and experience building systems that support high-volume transactional workloads, ideally within the finance space
A track record of building infrastructure that scales, stays available, and remains secure, using Agile practices to ship reliably
A collaborative, open working style across diverse teams, with energy for driving engineering excellence through better standards, processes, and shared knowledge
A willingness to welcome constructive feedback and invite debate and rigorous discussion around architectural ideas to reach the best outcomes
