Senior IFRS Accountant / Financial Controller

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of IFRS accounting and financial reporting for assigned international legal entities.

• Manage month-end and year-end closing, ledger accuracy, and intercompany reconciliations.

• Independently coordinate statutory audits, tax reviews, and support consolidated group audits.

• Participate in tax planning, corporate restructuring, and liquidation processes.

• Review contracts from an accounting and tax perspective, identifying financial risks and implications.

• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and internal stakeholders.

• Ensure accurate and timely collection of financial documentation.

• Identify opportunities to optimize, automate, and improve accounting and reporting processes.
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in IFRS accounting, financial reporting, financial control, or external audit.

• Strong practical understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.

• Experience working with international companies or multiple legal entities.

• Understanding of corporate taxation, VAT, and withholding tax principles.

• Experience with financial closing, reconciliations, and audit processes.

• English at B2 level or higher, with confident written and verbal communication.

• Strong analytical thinking and ability to handle complex or non-standard financial tasks.

• Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice to Have

• Background in Big 4 or other international audit firms.

• Combination of external audit and in-house finance experience.

• Experience with European jurisdictions, particularly Cyprus.

• ACCA, DipIFR, CPA, or relevant certification in progress.

• Experience with corporate restructuring or liquidation procedures.

• Knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and 1C accounting systems.

• Experience with banking compliance and KYC procedures.
