Senior Infrastructure & Reliability Engineer (AWS & Low Latency Trading Platform)
"What You'll Be Doing"
About This Role
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Infrastructure & Reliability Engineer with a background in institutional electronic trading platforms to architect, optimize, and maintain our core execution infrastructure. This role spans enterprise AWS cloud architecture, bare-metal low-latency networking, and Linux kernel performance tuning. You'll take end-to-end technical ownership of our global trading networks, host server performance, and AWS hybrid cloud connectivity, designing resilient execution platforms and acting as the primary escalation point for complex, production-level network and system incidents. We need someone who works at the protocol and packet level, with a deep understanding of system behavior that goes beyond automation playbooks, vendor templates, or high-level concepts.
What You'll Be Doing
Architect, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and logical networks across global co-location facilities (such as Equinix and CME) and direct exchange feeds
Manage and debug complex routing and switching protocols, including BGP, RSTP/STP, and Multicast
Oversee and validate precise time synchronization setups, including hardware timestamping, Boundary/Transparent clocks, and network QoS
Diagnose site-to-site encryption and tunnel connectivity for secure broker and exchange lines
Analyze latency, jitter, and packet drop issues using interface counters, routing diagnostics, and packet capture tools
Independently design and manage multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations, Resource Access Manager (RAM), and account-level security models
Take direct engineering ownership of AWS Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and hybrid VPC routing tables
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines for reproducible cloud and hybrid deployments
Perform low-latency host optimization, including CPU isolation, CPU affinity/pinning, C-state/P-state management, and kernel bypass
Establish empirical measurement frameworks to benchmark, test, and mathematically validate host tuning improvements in production
Execute structured, step-by-step root-cause analysis for complex production outages across hardware, network, and application layers
Establish telemetry, metric collection, and alerting frameworks across cloud and on-prem assets
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in low-latency infrastructure, systems engineering, or SRE supporting electronic trading platforms (buy-side prop/hedge fund preferred, or low-latency sell-side execution desks)
Deep networking expertise: hands-on mastery of BGP path selection, Multicast routing, PTP timing, and IPSec VPNs, with the ability to explain protocol mechanics and troubleshoot down to hardware interface counters
AWS hybrid expertise: proven experience independently provisioning and troubleshooting AWS Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and multi-account AWS Organizations
Linux performance tuning: practical experience with Linux kernel tuning and latency validation
Infrastructure as Code proficiency: Terraform and shell/Python scripting for infrastructure automation
Root-cause methodology: demonstrated ability to systematically isolate network and system failures using protocol analyzers, route tables, and hardware counters
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience with FIX, exchange connectivity, and crypto APIs
Familiarity with container orchestration and low-latency storage architectures
Why Join Us
Competitive remuneration package and a meritocratic culture where accomplishments are rewarded
Fast-paced, result-oriented environment with a flat structure
Teams collaborate in a casual working environment
Excellent exposure to the digital asset ecosystem and the latest market insights
Great career development opportunities
