IT - HFT System & Network Specialist - London
About This Role
B2C2 is seeking a highly specialised HFT System and Network Engineer to join its trading infrastructure team. This role bridges cutting-edge AWS environments with physical colocation facilities, with responsibility for end-to-end optimisation of the global trading stack — minimising tail latency, optimising cross-region connectivity, and automating deployment of performance-tuned bare metal and cloud instances. The work has direct impact on execution speed and competitive edge across both CeFi and DeFi exchanges.
What You'll Be Doing
Architecting and deploying HFT-grade infrastructure stacks, focused on low-latency connectivity to crypto exchanges and internal networks
Managing the interplay between AWS servers and physical hardware in traditional colocation centers
Implementing deep-level Linux kernel optimisations to minimise jitter and improve performance
Developing "zero-touch" deployment pipelines using Terraform and Ansible to ensure infrastructure is reproducible and error-free
Instrumenting the network for microsecond-level visibility, tracking packet loss, jitter, and retransmissions
Coordinating with exchanges and providers to manage cross-connects, LOAs, and high-speed transit lines
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in HFT or ultra-low latency environments where microseconds matter
Deep knowledge of Linux system internals (CPU pinning, NUMA, kernel bypass) and performance profiling
Expert understanding of BGP, Multicast, and AWS networking
Proficiency in Python/Bash and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for managing complex global deployments
Comfort working with high-performance NICs, low-latency switches (Arista/Cisco), and physical data centre requirements
Clear, concise communication skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and take ownership of the entire infrastructure lifecycle
