What You'll Be Doing
Architect and build critical components of Stellar Core, the distributed system underpinning the Stellar network's ledger and consensus
Design scalable, extensible infrastructure that supports smart contracts, DeFi applications, and a thriving developer ecosystem
Partner with our CTO, engineering team, and open-source contributors to shape next-generation network architecture
Write production-grade, maintainable C++/Rust code with rigorous attention to edge cases and long-term reliability
Own core subsystems and drive critical milestones for the broader distributed ledger roadmap
Author technical specs and RFCs, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and lead code review discussions
What We're Looking For
8+ years professional software development experience, ideally on distributed or high-performance systems
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical expertise
Strong production experience in modern C++ or Rust
Deep understanding of software design patterns and how to build modular, reusable components
Excellent communication skills—able to lead technical design and code review discussions
Comfort operating with autonomy in a fast-moving, small-team environment tackling novel blockchain problems
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience architecting distributed systems at scale
Genuine curiosity about blockchain protocols, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized network mechanics
Familiarity with consensus algorithms, formal verification, or network simulation
