Summer Intern - Technical Investigations Support
About This Role
Join NAXO as a Summer Intern and collaborate directly with experienced investigators tackling complex cybersecurity and cryptocurrency cases. This isn't busywork—you'll be embedded in active investigations, applying programming and analytical skills to untangle blockchain transactions, trace digital assets, and support decentralized ecosystem research. Your specific projects will be shaped around your strengths, making this a genuinely tailored learning experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting technically demanding investigations involving cryptocurrency transactions and distributed ledger activity
Writing and running scripts (Python, SQL) to extract, organize, and analyze blockchain-related data
Synthesizing findings from complex, often messy data sources into clear, actionable insights
Collaborating closely with NAXO staff on active crypto and web3-related investigative cases
Researching smart contracts, DeFi protocols, and on-chain activity relevant to ongoing investigations
Communicating technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Hands-on programming experience with Python and/or SQL
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize complex technical information
Genuine interest in cybersecurity, blockchain, and cryptocurrency ecosystems
Self-starter mentality with comfort navigating ambiguous, evolving investigative tasks
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a technical or investigative field
Bonus Points
Prior exposure to blockchain explorers, wallet tracing, or crypto forensics tools
Familiarity with DeFi protocols, smart contracts, or distributed systems architecture
Experience with data visualization or scripting for large datasets
Coursework or projects involving digital forensics or web3 security

Salary Range
$65,000 - $85,000
