About This Role
OP Labs, the team building Optimism, is hiring a Blockchain Solutions Architect to drive enterprise and institutional adoption of the OP Stack. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role sitting at the crossroads of sales, product, and engineering—helping banks, exchanges, and Fortune 500 companies evaluate and deploy production-grade decentralized systems. Backed by $178M from a16z and Paradigm, we're a lean, fast-moving team solving problems at the frontier of Web3 infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Serve as the lead technical partner for institutional clients navigating pilots, diligence, and full production rollouts on the OP Stack
Run deep technical discovery sessions spanning architecture, smart contracts, security, compliance, and operational readiness
Build and manage test environments—devnets, performance benchmarks, cloud deployments—to validate throughput, latency, and cost models
Translate enterprise feedback into actionable input for product and engineering roadmaps, influencing priorities around sequencing, privacy, and DeFi tooling
Guide partners through integration with custody providers, cloud platforms, and system integrators like Fireblocks and AWS
Support localized technical enablement, including Japanese-language documentation, to accelerate global onchain adoption
What We're Looking For
5+ years in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or Technical Pre-Sales roles
Solid background in blockchain infrastructure, distributed ledger systems, cloud platforms, or financial technology
Hands-on expertise with Ethereum or EVM-compatible networks, including Layer 1/Layer 2 rollups
Strong grasp of blockchain fundamentals: consensus, finality, smart contracts, and sequencing mechanics
Ability to communicate complex distributed systems concepts to both engineers and C-suite stakeholders
Independent, high-agency operator comfortable closing deals and building partnerships from scratch
Bonus Points
Experience working directly with regulated institutions—banks, asset managers, or payment providers
Familiarity with rollup architecture, hybrid deployment models, and permissioned-to-public migration strategies
Japanese fluency or experience supporting APAC enterprise partnerships
Track record shaping go-to-market strategy for emerging crypto or DeFi products
