What You'll Be Doing
Design and develop an on-premises data platform built on Kubernetes
Develop and integrate components for data orchestration, deployment, and platform automation
Build proof of concepts, ideally leveraging AI agent tools
Implement batch and streaming data pipelines along with platform-related services, integrating workloads on Kubernetes and S3-compatible storage solutions
Evaluate data catalogs and their integration into the platform
Collaborate closely with lead architects, infrastructure teams, and security teams
What We're Looking For
A completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification, with a motivation to build software that makes a real impact
Several years of experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes infrastructure, as well as Linux operating systems — specifically on-premise Kubernetes, not only public cloud platforms like AWS
Enjoyment in experimenting with proof of concepts and bringing them independently to a working state
Familiarity with modern data platform architectures such as Kappa or Medallion, along with batch and low-latency streaming pipelines
Practical knowledge of several of the following languages: Python, Golang, SQL, Rust, Bash, and Java
Experience with several of these tools and technologies: S3, Apache Iceberg, Kafka/RedPanda, NATS.io, Dagster, Spark, Flink, and Airflow
A cloud-native mindset, routine work with Linux, Linux containers, and Kubernetes, and your own ideas for realizing data management platforms at the edge without relying on public cloud services
Analytical thinking, an agile mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and solution orientation
Very good spoken and written German for effective communication with project teams and German-speaking clients
Bonus Points
Several years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
