Director, Digital Asset Operations
About This Role
Janus Henderson is expanding its footprint into digital asset operations, and we need a strategic leader to build and scale this function from the ground up. You'll be at the intersection of traditional finance and web3 innovation, designing frameworks that support crypto, tokenized assets, and DeFi-adjacent products while ensuring institutional-grade rigor and compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the design and implementation of operational infrastructure supporting digital assets, tokenized securities, and blockchain-based investment vehicles
Partner with trading, compliance, and technology teams to establish robust controls around crypto custody, settlement, and smart contract-driven transactions
Evaluate emerging distributed ledger technologies and DeFi protocols to identify operational opportunities and risks
Build scalable processes for digital asset reconciliation, reporting, and client servicing
Represent Janus Henderson in industry forums focused on blockchain innovation and decentralized finance standards
Mentor and grow a specialized team focused on digital asset operational excellence
What We're Looking For
10+ years of operations leadership experience within asset management, fintech, or crypto-native organizations
Deep understanding of blockchain infrastructure, digital asset custody models, and distributed systems
Proven track record building operational frameworks for emerging technologies in regulated environments
Strong grasp of smart contracts, tokenization, and the broader web3 ecosystem
Exceptional stakeholder management skills across technology, compliance, and investment teams
Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
Bonus Points
Direct experience with DeFi protocols, crypto exchanges, or digital asset custodians
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing digital assets across UK/EU jurisdictions
Background in launching new blockchain-based product lines within traditional finance
Technical fluency in smart contract auditing or distributed ledger architecture
