About This Role
Ihsan is building a super-app for the global Ummah, and Ihsan Pay is its financial core — a stablecoin-powered neobank combining USDC, EURC, and PAXG (gold) balances with the simplicity of a modern bank account. As founding Senior Payments Platform Engineer, you'll own the backend systems that guarantee every balance, transfer, deposit, and card transaction is processed with precision, even at scale and under failure conditions.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and own core ledger and balance systems that track funds across fiat, stablecoin, and crypto rails with zero tolerance for drift
Build reconciliation and settlement pipelines that handle duplicate events, provider outages, and transaction retries gracefully
Architect high-throughput payment infrastructure integrating card networks, bank transfers, and Solana-based stablecoin movement
Collaborate closely with founders and early engineers to shape the technical foundation of a decentralized-aligned financial product
Implement robust APIs in Go and TypeScript powering mobile (React Native) and backend (PostgreSQL) systems
Ensure every smart contract and on-chain interaction involving USDC, EURC, and PAXG settles correctly and transparently
What We're Looking For
Proven experience personally building backend infrastructure for a live financial product handling real customer funds
Hands-on background in stablecoin neobanks, digital wallets, money-transfer platforms, or payment ledger systems
Deep understanding of settlement, reconciliation, and high-volume transaction processing
Strong proficiency in Go, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL in production environments
Comfort operating in a fast-moving, founding-engineer environment with high ownership
Clear communicator who can reason about edge cases in distributed financial systems
Bonus Points
Experience with Solana or other blockchain networks powering crypto-native payment rails
Familiarity with DeFi protocols, smart contracts, or digital asset custody
Background in card issuing, Visa debit infrastructure, or fiat on/off-ramp partnerships
Passion for building ethical, interest-free (riba-free) financial products
