Join the Core Infrastructure – Platforms team, the engineers behind the compute, storage, and orchestration systems that power every workload at Kraken—from spot trading to staking to the distributed ledger services our 10M+ users rely on. What You'll Be Doing
Operate and evolve our OpenStack platform—Nova (compute), Neutron (networking), Ironic (provisioning)—as core infrastructure for blockchain-grade reliability
Master Ceph storage architecture, troubleshooting, and operations at scale
Resolve feature requests and support tickets across OpenStack and storage systems, deepening platform expertise
Partner with senior engineers to debug complex, full-stack issues impacting distributed systems
Integrate storage solutions with Kubernetes CSI and OpenStack Cinder to support crypto trading workloads
Build automation and tooling that reduces toil and increases platform efficiency
Contribute to runbooks and documentation; participate in on-call rotations ensuring 24/7 reliability
What We're Looking For
3+ years as an Infrastructure, Platform, DevOps, or Software Engineer in distributed systems environments
Hands-on experience with OpenStack private cloud or Ceph networked storage
Strong Linux fundamentals—shell, processes, file systems, permissions
Solid grasp of networking: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, TLS, PKI
Scripting/programming skills in Python, Bash, or Go
Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset supporting engineering teams building web3 products
Comfort leveraging AI tools (Claude, OpenAI) to accelerate infrastructure delivery
Bonus Points
Experience running Kubernetes clusters in production
Exposure to AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-prem environments
Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
Direct experience with Ceph/Rook storage systems
