About This Role
As our Legal Counsel, you will be the primary legal support for CoinGecko's dynamic operations, navigating complex legal and regulatory landscapes. You will be instrumental in drafting contracts, assessing risks, and contributing to the company's intellectual property strategy, all while working in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide primary legal support on a range of legal and regulatory matters, identifying and raising legal issues in contracts.
Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, including commercial, partnership, licensing, and vendor agreements.
Assist in identifying legal risks associated with company operations, products, and services, and support mitigation strategies.
Assist in mapping and managing the company’s intellectual property and conduct research on global IP law.
Maintain corporate records and support corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with corporate legal requirements.
Support dispute resolution and prevention efforts, including pre-litigation negotiations.
Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures.
Support the implementation, maintenance, and review of internal policies and procedures for legal and regulatory compliance.
Conduct legal research on assigned issues and stay current with laws related to technology, IP, financial services, and cryptocurrency.
Assist in creating and maintaining legal documentation, templates, and playbooks.
Support the end-to-end process of legal-related vendor acquisition.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide commercially viable legal solutions.
Mentor interns when required, imparting knowledge and technical skills.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in providing legal support on regulatory and contractual matters.
Strong ability to draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts.
Experience in identifying and assessing legal risks.
Familiarity with intellectual property mapping and management.
Understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.
Excellent legal research skills with the ability to stay updated on relevant laws.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus Points
Experience in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, or financial technology industry.
Prior experience with regulatory filings and policy development.
