About This Role
Join Hexagate, Chainalysis's cybersecurity division purpose-built to defend on-chain and web3 assets. We operate at the collision point of security engineering and distributed ledger technology—a space where threat actors move fast and milliseconds matter. You'll help build a real-time detection and response platform that fuses ML-driven threat intelligence with an LLM-powered rules engine, giving institutional clients confidence that their smart contracts and digital assets are protected around the clock.
What You'll Be Doing
Define the "Golden Path"—architectural standards that let product teams ship fast without compromising the reliability demanded by institutional DeFi and FinTech clients
Lead modernization efforts, migrating legacy systems to Kubernetes, robust Infrastructure-as-Code, and streamlined CI/CD pipelines
Design scalable, reproducible infrastructure that powers our multi-chain ingestion and on-chain detection engines
Embed SRE discipline across the stack—establishing SLOs, observability, and system constraints that uphold uptime commitments for blockchain security products
Build internal developer tooling that empowers engineers to own their services end-to-end, multiplying the impact of the entire engineering organization
Partner cross-functionally with product and security teams to harden infrastructure against adversarial, high-stakes attacks on decentralized systems
What We're Looking For
Proven track record operating large-scale production environments, ideally within FinTech, enterprise SaaS, or high-growth crypto/web3 startups
Strong blend of DevOps, Infrastructure, and SRE expertise—you design systems that prevent failure classes, not just patch incidents
Hands-on mastery of Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Pulumi or Terraform
Solid coding ability in Python, Go, or Rust to build automation and internal tooling
A coaching mindset—you elevate teams rather than act as a reactive support desk
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, adversarial environment where blockchain security is mission-critical
Bonus Points
Direct experience securing smart contracts or distributed ledger infrastructure
Familiarity with multi-chain data ingestion systems or blockchain node operations
Exposure to ML-driven threat detection or anomaly detection platforms
Background working with crypto-native or decentralized finance products
