Senior Legal Counsel (Remote)

You'll work directly with engineers, policy teams, and executive leadership to navigate uncharted regulatory territory surrounding World ID, World App, and the broader decentralized ecosystem we're building. What You'll Be Doing
Advise on legal matters spanning blockchain infrastructure, token mechanics, and smart contract deployment
Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure compliant design of decentralized identity and verification systems
Monitor and interpret evolving global regulations affecting crypto, DeFi, and digital privacy
Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements with partners across the web3 ecosystem
Guide the company through regulatory inquiries, licensing matters, and cross-border compliance challenges
Collaborate with leadership to build scalable legal processes supporting rapid, global expansion
What We're Looking For
J.D. and active bar membership, with 7+ years of relevant legal experience
Demonstrated expertise advising on blockchain, cryptocurrency, or distributed systems companies
Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks touching crypto assets, data privacy, and digital identity
Exceptional judgment navigating ambiguity in fast-moving, high-growth environments
Clear communicator able to translate complex legal concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable working cross-functionally in a mission-driven, remote-first culture
Bonus Points
Experience counseling on DeFi protocols, DAOs, or token-based governance structures
Familiarity with biometric data regulations and privacy-by-design principles
Prior in-house experience at a crypto, fintech, or web3-native company
Exposure to international regulatory bodies overseeing digital assets
