Senior Risk Strategist, Market Manipulation (Trading Risk)
"What You'll Be Doing"
What You'll Be Doing
Design and maintain risk strategies to detect manipulative and abusive trading behaviors across spot, perpetual futures, options, and other trading products
Conduct in-depth investigations into suspected manipulation rings, including order flow analysis, self-match/crossing pattern identification, order book microstructure anomalies, and cross-account linkage
Build behavioral profiles for emerging manipulation typologies in low-liquidity instruments, leveraged products, and leveraged liquidation cascades
Quantify risk impact — market distortion, potential losses, exposure concentration — to support strategy prioritization and management reporting
Partner with trading product, compliance, and other related teams on surveillance rule and control measure design
What We're Looking For
Hands-on derivatives trading experience, with solid understanding of futures, perpetual contracts, and options mechanics, including leverage, margining, liquidation mechanisms, insurance fund mechanisms, and Auto-Deleveraging (ADL) settings
Trading risk management experience, with a focus on detecting and preventing market manipulation schemes such as spoofing/layering, wash trading, front-running, and insider/dealer misappropriation
Strong data analysis skills, with SQL required and Python preferred, and the ability to independently design and validate detection logic against order-level and trade-level datasets
Ability to reason from the attacker's perspective — understanding how manipulators construct positions, disguise intent, and exploit product rules
Experience collaborating across risk, compliance, product, or legal functions
Bonus Points
Work experience at a crypto exchange, brokerage, or trading venue in surveillance, trading risk, or market conduct roles
A personal quantitative trading track record, with candidates who actively trade derivatives encouraged to share verifiable account performance (PnL statements) as evidence of practical market understanding
Familiarity with traditional finance market abuse frameworks and surveillance vendors
Familiarity with crypto on-chain fund-flow tracing
Experience with graph analysis / entity-linking and crypto on-chain fund-flow tracing for uncovering collusion networks across accounts
Understanding of how to apply market anomaly signals such as VPIN and HHI
