Software Engineer, Data
About This Role
As a Software Engineer on the Data Feeds team, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, distributed systems experts, and security specialists, all focused on building decentralized infrastructure. You'll develop highly scalable, secure, and reliable software that changes how smart contracts function at a fundamental level, with a focus on Data Feeds. You'll have the chance to learn and apply the latest research in distributed systems, cryptography, blockchains, game theory, consensus algorithms, and decentralized applications, with a high degree of autonomy and ownership over your projects.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing and implementing new features in the Data Product space, including trust-minimized off-chain computation and the aggregation of external data across various blockchain environments
Owning the end-to-end delivery of new and existing data products that power the largest share of DeFi by total value secured (TVS)
Deepening your knowledge of blockchain ecosystems such as Solana, Avalanche, Polygon, and Ethereum
Building core products using Smart Contracts in Solidity, Move, and Rust
Partnering with the research team on cutting-edge products
Thinking through attack vectors, failure modes, and disaster scenarios, modeling them in reproducible test environments and developing fixes
Managing the architectural vision for new subsystems within the core Chainlink node
Implementing resilient distributed systems to achieve high reliability across different blockchain environments
What We're Looking For
At least 4-6+ years of professional software engineering experience in a collaborative, product-driven environment
Experience with blockchain and other Web 3.0 technologies
Experience developing smart contracts that secured meaningful value on-chain
Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and systems design concepts
Experience owning multi-month projects, including communicating progress, dependencies, and risk mitigation with stakeholders and partners
Experience building distributed, low-latency systems
A B.S. or higher in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field
Bonus Points
Experience in Golang or another strongly-typed programming language
Experience working with a globally distributed team
Experience working in or with market data
