Sr. Data Analyst, Data & Audit Readiness
About This Role
This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of data engineering and audit governance within one of the world's most established crypto platforms. You'll design the pipelines, catalogs, and controls that let Internal Audit transform compliance planning into data-driven testing — all while supporting the infrastructure behind Kraken's trading, staking, and DeFi-adjacent services. If you love architecting systems that are both elegant and bulletproof, this role is built for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Build and own ETL pipelines, dashboards, and audit-ready data architecture across financial systems, recordkeeping, and reporting
Design traceability, access control, and testability into datasets from day one — not as an afterthought
Drive governance improvements around schema changes, ensuring upstream shifts don't break downstream audit processes
Partner cross-functionally with Risk, IT, Finance, and Engineering to keep data pipelines resilient and well-documented
Develop reusable patterns for data validation, quality checks, and monitoring across distributed systems
Serve as the technical translator between audit requests and engineering execution
What We're Looking For
7+ years in data engineering or analytics, ideally within fintech, payments, or crypto environments where data integrity isn't optional
Proven experience architecting pipelines in regulated settings, with governance and traceability built in from the start
Hands-on expertise with dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools for production-grade pipelines
Advanced SQL (joins, CTEs, analytical functions) plus strong Python skills for pipeline development
Experience documenting technical specs, KPIs, business rules, and data dictionaries
Comfort with job scheduling, exception handling, and troubleshooting at scale
Bonus Points
Exposure to blockchain-based financial systems, smart contracts, or distributed ledger reporting
Background supporting SOX, internal audit, or risk functions in digital asset or DeFi companies
Familiarity with crypto-native data structures and on-chain analytics
Why Join Us
Competitive compensation and equity in a company shaping the future of open finance
Fully remote, flexible culture built around autonomy and impact
Direct influence over the data infrastructure powering a top-tier global crypto exchange
Continuous learning in one of the most dynamic corners of web3 and distributed systems
