About This Role
Agora is a crypto-native fintech building the full-stack platform for issuing and managing stablecoins at scale, backed by top-tier investors like Paradigm and Dragonfly. This is a rare opportunity to embed deeply within a high-velocity engineering team and shape security practices across distributed systems, smart contract-adjacent infrastructure, and the cloud-native backbone of a next-generation financial platform. You'll have broad ownership — from architecture review to live incident response — with real influence on how a crypto-native company builds trust at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
Embed with Engineering and Product teams across the full development lifecycle — from threat modeling early designs to hardening production systems
Review application code, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes workloads, and cloud configurations for security gaps in a complex, blockchain-integrated environment
Identify and communicate vulnerabilities clearly, then partner with engineers to drive pragmatic, fast remediation
Build and tune detection and alerting logic across cloud and application telemetry to strengthen Agora's security monitoring program
Investigate suspicious activity and partner with the SOC during live incident response
Act as the go-to expert on application security, IAM, secrets management, container security, and API protection
What We're Looking For
Deep experience securing modern cloud-native stacks — AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi
Strong grasp of application security fundamentals: authentication, authorization models, API security, and secure coding practices
Comfort working across TypeScript/Node.js services, React apps, relational databases, and GitOps-driven deployment pipelines
Proven ability to evaluate unfamiliar systems from first principles and learn quickly in a fast-moving, crypto-native environment
Excellent communication skills — you can explain risk clearly to engineers, product teams, and leadership alike
A pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset suited to high-trust financial infrastructure
Bonus Points
Experience securing blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, or DeFi protocols
Background in financial services, payments, or regulated fintech environments
Familiarity with Cloudflare, Argo CD, or GitOps-based deployment workflows
Prior experience building or scaling a security monitoring/detection program
