"What You'll Be Doing"
About This Role
Bridge is hiring a Security Engineer to build and scale its security foundation from the ground up. This is an opportunity to design a security program from first principles while drawing on the infrastructure, tooling, and best practices of Stripe's broader, mature security organization.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and implement Bridge's security roadmap, from first principles through to production.
Identify and address the most pressing Bridge security risks quickly and pragmatically.
Integrate with existing Stripe infrastructure where appropriate, and build custom solutions where it isn't.
Lead threat modeling and hardening work for Bridge's money movement systems, partnering with crypto and infrastructure teams.
Build core security capabilities such as monitoring, secrets management, incident response, access controls, and CI/CD hardening.
Reinforce secure development and infrastructure best practices across engineering.
Help ensure Bridge meets compliance and audit requirements as it expands into more regulated markets.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and Stripe's security organization to move quickly without sacrificing safety.
What We're Looking For
8+ years of experience in security engineering.
Experience building or scaling security programs at a startup or in an embedded security role.
Bonus Points
Experience building security practices from scratch in fast-paced startup environments.
A scrappy, pragmatic, startup mindset focused on solving the most critical problems first.
Comfort writing and debugging backend application code, ideally with Ruby experience.
Comfort operating with ambiguity and ability to ruthlessly prioritize.
Ability to balance security rigor with speed in fast-moving environments.
Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Interest in the potential of crypto and stablecoins to power global financial infrastructure.
