ClickHouse Engineer
About This Role
Our trading infrastructure connects 40+ global liquidity providers, and every trade — whether fiat or crypto — flows through a multi-datacentre, multi-AZ ClickHouse cluster ingesting billions of rows daily. This isn't a database admin job; it's a core-platform engineering role shaping the systems behind compliance, billing, and analytics that span both conventional and blockchain-adjacent trading flows. You'll join a follow-the-sun team spanning Singapore and London, with on-call responsibilities planned and compensated, not left to goodwill.
What You'll Be Doing
Operate and evolve a large-scale, multi-AZ ClickHouse estate on Kubernetes, with rehearsed backup, recovery, and upgrade processes
Design schemas, sorting keys, partitioning, and materialised views optimized for multi-terabyte, high-velocity datasets
Build capacity models, storage tiering strategies, and Grafana-based observability for a mission-critical distributed data layer
Ensure ingestion correctness and reconciliation across pipelines feeding billing, compliance, and crypto trading analytics
Architect workload isolation so ingest, reporting, and ad-hoc analytics scale without contention
Leverage AI-assisted tooling, including MCP-based access, to let a lean engineering team run platform-scale infrastructure efficiently
What We're Looking For
Deep experience with ClickHouse or another columnar/OLAP database at serious production scale
Proven ownership of a live data platform — capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response under pressure
Strong fluency across Go (capture services) and Python (analytics foundation)
Comfort working in high-throughput, low-latency environments where data integrity is non-negotiable
A systems-thinking mindset suited to distributed ledger-adjacent infrastructure and fintech-grade reliability
Calm, methodical decision-making during production incidents
Bonus Points
Prior exposure to blockchain, crypto, or decentralized trading infrastructure
Experience with smart contracts, DeFi protocols, or on-chain data analytics
Familiarity with Kubernetes-native data platforms and multi-region replication strategies
