About This Role
This isn't a database admin job — it's a core-platform engineering role at the intersection of distributed systems, high-performance analytics, and crypto-adjacent trading infrastructure. You'll architect and run a multi-datacentre, multi-AZ ClickHouse cluster ingesting billions of rows daily, forming the analytical and compliance backbone behind decentralized liquidity flows and real-time market data. If you're energized by building resilient, scalable platforms where every millisecond and every row counts, this role offers outsized technical ownership and impact.
What You'll Be Doing
Own cluster operations end-to-end — upgrades, multi-AZ resilience, and rehearsed backup/recovery on Kubernetes
Design schemas, sorting keys, partitioning strategies, and materialised views optimized for multi-terabyte, high-throughput datasets
Build capacity models, storage tiering, and Grafana-based observability to keep the data plant transparent and predictable
Engineer ingestion pipelines (Go-based capture services, Python analytics layer) with correctness and reconciliation guarantees
Implement workload isolation so ingest, reporting, and ad-hoc analytics scale without colliding
Mentor engineers, set operational standards, and build a genuinely supportable, follow-the-sun platform team
What We're Looking For
Deep operational experience running a production-grade columnar, time-series, or large-scale distributed data platform
Proven ownership of capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response under real pressure
Strong schema design and query optimization skills against massive, high-velocity datasets
Comfort working across Go and Python within modern, cloud-native (Kubernetes) environments
Leadership instincts — you mentor, document, and build systems that outlast any single engineer
Calm, methodical decision-making when production systems are under load
Bonus Points
Direct ClickHouse experience at scale
Background in trading, fintech, blockchain, or other latency-sensitive, high-stakes data environments
Familiarity with DeFi, smart contracts, or crypto market infrastructure
Experience building follow-the-sun or globally distributed on-call models
