This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of organizational design and frontier technology. As Director, HR Business Partner for R&D, you'll be the trusted people advisor to our Head of R&D and senior engineering leadership, shaping how teams building blockchain intelligence, distributed ledger analytics, and crypto-forward products operate, scale, and thrive during a period of profound transformation.
What You'll Be Doing
Partner strategically with R&D's senior leadership to embed a people strategy that accelerates Chainalysis's shift toward AI-native, platform-driven blockchain intelligence
Lead organizational design and change management as engineering, data science, research, product, and design teams evolve their operating models
Guide leaders through AI-driven transformation, reshaping technical career frameworks, team structures, and productivity expectations for an AI-augmented era
Own workforce planning and talent strategy for highly specialized domains — blockchain, cryptography, data science, and security — across global hubs in NYC, Aarhus, and Tel Aviv
Coach senior technical leaders on organizational health, performance, and employee relations, balancing analytical rigor with empathy
Use people analytics to proactively identify attrition risks and organizational trends before they become systemic challenges
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a senior HRBP or People leader supporting large, complex engineering or R&D organizations
Deep expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, and change management within fast-scaling tech environments
Comfort operating in ambiguity, especially within rapidly evolving, innovation-driven industries like blockchain, web3, or crypto
Strong data fluency — able to translate people analytics into actionable insight for executive stakeholders
Excellent executive presence and the ability to influence and coach senior technical leaders
Experience partnering with global, hybrid teams across multiple time zones
Bonus Points
Background supporting engineering teams building distributed systems, smart contracts, or DeFi-related products
Familiarity with AI-native development practices and how they reshape engineering talent models
Experience designing technical career ladders for specialized, high-demand roles
Prior exposure to the crypto or decentralized technology ecosystem
