Senior Accountant
About This Role
This is an opportunity to join a growing fintech company during a pivotal stage of growth. As Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in strengthening and scaling the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The Accounting & Finance team is fully remote and distributed, and this role reports directly to the Assistant Controller, partnering cross-functionally to support the company's continued growth and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
Preparing and documenting journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies
Owning and helping optimize the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and process automation initiatives
Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Supporting the development and enhancement of internal financial reporting and reporting distribution processes
Assisting with the annual financial statement audit by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests
Coordinating with the parent company on tax documentation and information requests
Operating in a multi-entity environment as a key resource to adjacent teams
Assisting with weekly reserve computations and related reporting
Developing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
Performing ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as needed
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within financial services
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and organization
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while working independently in a remote setting
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and regulatory requirements
Strong communication and collaboration skills with a team-first mindset
Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and willingness to take on new challenges
Bonus Points
CPA designation
Experience working for a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or other regulated financial services organization
Experience with Netsuite
