"What You'll Be Doing"
About This Role
We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Architect to own the infrastructure of our growing Reconciliation platform. You'll set the direction, architecture and design for the platform, focusing on performance, stability, security, and the integration of newer technologies, while also setting technical direction and standards for the team. Senior infrastructure engineers will own day-to-day execution and operational work.
What You'll Be Doing
Set and own infrastructure architecture direction, driving decisions on architecture, scalability, and performance across the platform.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior infrastructure engineers, reviewing designs, helping unblock hard problems, and deepening the team's expertise.
Establish infrastructure standards and patterns that set a high benchmark for quality, performance, and maintainability.
Stay hands-on by prototyping and building critical-path components, while day-to-day operational work and routine implementation remain with the senior engineers.
Make and be accountable for infrastructure tradeoff decisions that carry long-term cost, scalability, or maintainability implications.
What We're Looking For
BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and owning large-scale distributed infrastructure, with a track record of owning architecture decisions, including 3+ years as a technical lead mentoring engineers.
Deep expertise with AWS and Kubernetes, with a minimum of 3+ years' experience in each.
Expertise in Linux and Windows server environments, along with strong experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and ArgoCD, and scripting languages including Bash and Python.
Experience with data infrastructure and processing technologies such as Spark and MSSQL, including building systems that support high-volume transactional workloads, ideally in finance.
A track record of building infrastructure that scales, stays available, and remains secure, using Agile practices to ship reliably.
Ability to work openly and collaboratively with diverse teams, with energy for driving engineering excellence through better standards, processes, and shared knowledge.
Openness to constructive feedback, actively inviting debate and rigorous discussion around architectural ideas to reach the best outcomes.
