About This Role
This isn't your average data engineering gig. You'll be matched with fast-moving startups at the intersection of distributed systems, DeFi infrastructure, and data-driven decision-making. Whether supporting blockchain analytics dashboards or building the backbone for crypto transaction processing, you'll have real ownership over architecture decisions from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing and building scalable data pipelines that support decentralized applications and blockchain-based analytics
Architecting ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Databricks, DBT, Airflow, and Snowflake to process on-chain and off-chain data
Collaborating directly with technical founders and engineering teams building smart contracts and distributed ledger products
Optimizing data infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure to support high-throughput crypto and fintech applications
Translating business requirements into robust, production-ready data architecture
Communicating project progress clearly and proactively in a fully remote, async-friendly environment
What We're Looking For
4-5+ years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer, ideally within fast-paced tech or fintech environments
Hands-on expertise with Databricks, DBT, Azure DevOps, Apache Airflow, or Snowflake (specific combos vary by project)
Strong Python and SQL proficiency for building and maintaining data systems at scale
Solid grasp of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data architecture principles
Advanced English communication skills — you'll be speaking directly with technical clients, including those building decentralized and blockchain-based products
Self-directed, reliable, and adaptable — ready to onboard quickly and deliver without micromanagement
Bonus Points
Prior exposure to blockchain, crypto, or web3 data environments
Experience handling on-chain data or integrating with distributed ledger systems
Familiarity with DeFi protocols or smart contract-adjacent data pipelines
Background working within fast-scaling startup teams
