Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure
"What You'll Be Doing"
What You'll Be Doing
Own and evolve our Azure cloud infrastructure, focusing on reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
Drive infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform (ideally alongside Terragrunt), pushing the team toward a code-first approach to building and operating systems.
Lead container operations on Kubernetes and help mature how the team deploys and runs services.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices that let engineers ship with confidence.
Build and maintain our cloud data infrastructure, including Fabric, databases, and warehouses.
Own incident response end-to-end, from diagnosis through postmortem, driving meaningful improvements after each significant event.
Partner with security engineering to harden infrastructure and advance compliance goals.
Build AI-augmented observability capabilities to experiment with and remediate issues faster.
Lead, grow, and hire a team of infrastructure engineers, creating clarity, removing blockers, and fostering a culture of ownership.
Collaborate closely with Backend, Product, and Security teams on architecture decisions and major launches.
Set the standard for observability and reliability across the engineering organization.
What We're Looking For
8+ years of engineering experience, including meaningful time managing cloud infrastructure teams, with comfort operating at both the technical and leadership level simultaneously.
Deep, hands-on cloud infrastructure experience. Azure is the primary cloud; direct Azure experience is a plus, but strong AWS or GCP engineers willing to go deep on Azure are equally competitive.
End-to-end DevOps ownership: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Terragrunt preferred), container orchestration via Kubernetes, and deployment/release practices that enable confident shipping.
A serious security mindset, covering AuthN/AuthZ, network isolation, secrets management, and zero-trust principles, with experience hardening production infrastructure in high-stakes environments.
A track record of driving developer productivity improvements that teams actually noticed — internal platforms, toolchain automation, deployment speed, or developer experience initiatives.
Active use of AI tools in your own work, along with experience driving structured adoption across a team rather than just encouraging it.
Experience leading distributed teams across time zones, keeping remote engineers aligned, accountable, and energized without unnecessary synchronous overhead.
Comfort with ambiguity, fast movement when the picture is incomplete, and quick adjustment when priorities shift — ideally demonstrated at a startup or high-growth company.
Bonus Points
Payments or crypto domain knowledge.
QA/testing infrastructure experience.
