Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Government Systems
"About The Role"
About This Role
Chainalysis is on a mission to make the decentralized economy safer by pairing trusted blockchain data with intelligent, reasoning agents that investigate and act. Our engineering teams tackle some of the hardest distributed systems challenges in the industry — from entity resolution to predictive modeling of illicit on-chain activity. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on our Government Systems team, you'll be the technical backbone ensuring Chainalysis Reactor runs reliably inside the world's most locked-down, high-security networks.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the architecture and evolution of RKE2 Kubernetes clusters across dev, acceptance, and production — owning upgrades, networking, capacity planning, and resilience
Build and scale infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to provision secure AWS environments with reusable, battle-tested modules
Own the CI/CD pipeline end-to-end via GitHub Actions, optimizing build performance and ensuring smart, reliable releases across staged environments
Drive GitOps delivery practices with Flux CD, setting standards for Helm charts and Kustomize overlays across distributed clusters
Define lifecycle policies for container images — build, sign, store, and distribute across OCI registries for multiple deployment targets
Own platform security posture — managing secrets, certificates, RBAC, and compliance-driven configurations
Serve as the connective tissue between product teams and infrastructure, troubleshooting complex environment issues and championing best practices
Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and architectural discussions
What We're Looking For
Deep, hands-on experience operating Kubernetes (RKE2 preferred) in production-grade, high-security environments
Strong command of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles for provisioning cloud-native, decentralized-friendly architectures
Proven ownership of CI/CD and GitOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Flux CD, Helm)
Experience with container image security, signing, and OCI registry management
Strong communication skills — able to translate infrastructure complexity to cross-functional product and security teams
Must be a U.S. citizen eligible to access government systems; EST-based candidates strongly preferred
Bonus Points
Experience supporting blockchain, web3, or crypto-native infrastructure platforms
Familiarity with smart contracts, DeFi protocols, or distributed ledger data pipelines
Background working in air-gapped or limited-connectivity government environments
Experience building platforms that support AI/ML-driven investigative tooling
Why Join Us
Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits
Fully remote culture built on trust, autonomy, and flexibility
Direct impact on global security and the safe growth of the crypto economy
Work alongside world-class engineers solving genuinely novel distributed systems problems at the frontier of blockchain innovation
