Protocol Engineering Lead
"About The Role"
About This Role
Quant's protocol stack — a permissioned EVM environment, custom rollup architecture, and smart contracts that issue and settle regulated digital currency — is transitioning from active build-out into live production. We're looking for a Protocol Engineering Lead to take full ownership of that transition and everything that follows. This is a rare opportunity to shape how institutional-grade decentralized infrastructure actually runs in the real world, not just in theory.
What You'll Be Doing
Own the complete release pipeline for protocol upgrades — from written code through audit to live deployment on the blockchain
Coordinate external security audits for every smart contract release, managing timelines, scope, and vendor relationships
Drive remediation efforts based on audit findings, prioritizing fixes that protect the integrity of the distributed system
Make critical architectural and operational decisions around the permissioned EVM and rollup layers
Partner closely with engineering, compliance, and product teams to ensure protocol changes align with regulatory and business requirements
Monitor live smart contracts post-deployment, proactively identifying risks before they become incidents
What We're Looking For
Deep hands-on experience with Solidity, EVM internals, and smart contract development in production environments
Proven track record managing the full lifecycle of blockchain protocol releases — not just writing code, but sustaining it
Experience coordinating with external auditors and translating technical findings into actionable remediation plans
Strong understanding of rollup architecture, layer-2 scaling, and permissioned distributed ledger systems
Comfort operating in a regulated fintech or DeFi context where correctness and security are non-negotiable
Excellent judgment under pressure — this role carries real ownership over systems handling regulated money
Bonus Points
Experience with institutional or regulated stablecoin/digital currency issuance
Familiarity with formal verification tools or advanced smart contract security practices
Background contributing to open-source Web3 infrastructure or protocol standards
Prior experience in a lead or ownership role within a crypto-native engineering team
Why Join Us
Own a high-impact, high-visibility piece of critical blockchain infrastructure from day one
Competitive compensation package reflecting the seniority and scope of the role
Work alongside a team shaping the future of regulated decentralized finance
Direct influence over how institutional-grade protocols are built, secured, and operated at scale
Salary Range
$69,680.52 - $69,680.52
