About This Role
Join a tight-knit team of data scientists, engineers, and product leaders building the backbone of TRM's blockchain intelligence platform. You'll design and operate massive-scale data services that process real-time transaction activity across the decentralized ecosystem, directly shaping how global agencies combat financial crime. This is high-leverage, high-visibility work at the intersection of distributed systems and web3 innovation.
What You'll Be Doing
Architect highly available data services that integrate seamlessly with dozens of blockchain networks
Build sophisticated ETL pipelines capable of transforming petabytes of structured and unstructured on-chain data in real time
Design data models engineered for sub-second query performance against massive blockchain datasets
Deploy and monitor large-scale database clusters with relentless focus on uptime and throughput
Partner cross-functionally with data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers to ship novel data architectures that power TRM's crypto intelligence products
Drive rapid iteration—shipping "skateboard" versions of infrastructure projects and hardening based on real feedback
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
5+ years architecting distributed systems, from concept through production-scale deployment
Strong programming chops in Python, plus fluency in SQL or SparkSQL
Hands-on expertise with modern data stores and engines such as Iceberg, Trino, BigQuery, StarRocks, or Citus
Experience orchestrating data pipelines using tools like Airflow or DBT
Comfort working with streaming and processing frameworks including Spark, Kafka, or Flink
Proficiency deploying infrastructure on public cloud using Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog
Bonus Points
Direct experience working with blockchain transaction data or on-chain analytics
Track record building self-serve automation to reduce operational toil and scale infrastructure faster
Familiarity with the broader decentralized finance (DeFi) and crypto ecosystem
