Staff Backend Engineer, Vaults
About This Role

As a senior technical leader, you'll design resilient, high-throughput infrastructure powering Vaults that interact directly with smart contracts and manage significant onchain value. What You'll Be Doing
Architect and scale backend systems that support Vault products integrating deeply with blockchain networks and smart contracts
Design robust, secure services that handle real-time onchain data, transaction monitoring, and asset management
Drive technical strategy across teams, setting standards for reliability, security, and performance in a high-stakes DeFi environment
Collaborate closely with smart contract engineers, protocol researchers, and product teams to ship new crypto-native features
Mentor engineers and elevate engineering practices across the organization
Own critical infrastructure decisions that directly impact user funds and protocol integrity
What We're Looking For
Extensive experience building and scaling backend systems in production, ideally with exposure to financial or crypto infrastructure
Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and designing for high-availability environments
Hands-on familiarity with blockchain architecture, smart contracts, or onchain data indexing
Proven track record operating at a Staff or Senior Staff level, driving technical direction with minimal oversight
Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-moving web3 organization
Genuine passion for decentralized finance and its potential to reshape global financial access
Bonus Points
Experience working directly with DeFi protocols, lending markets, or yield infrastructure
Familiarity with Solidity, EVM internals, or smart contract auditing practices
Background contributing to open-source crypto projects or protocol governance
Experience with high-security systems managing significant financial value
